There are two prices because we have two ways for you to subscribe: our website and through the mobile (Android and iOS) apps. We are required to use the in-app subscriptions to publish Cicada on the Google Play and Apple App stores, and they take 30% of the subscription cost. The price is higher for the in-app prices to help us be able to make up the loss and still stay afloat to serve you.
How do I manage/cancel my subscription?
If you subscribed through the website:
Go to https://cicada.frischlymade.tech/ and log in.Once you’ve logged in, click on the “Manage Account” button in the top right
This will take you to a page where you can manage your subscription and payment method
How long will I have access to Cicada once I’ve cancelled my subscription?
You will have access until the end of your billing period. For example, if you started your subscription on March 15th, you will be charged on the 15th of each month. If you cancel on June 1st, you will continue to have access to Cicada until June 15th.
By default, Cicada collects no information itself. We do use some Google services in our app, which may collect some information, but we do not have any default data collection of our own. There is a setting to log some information, but that is off by default and will never be turned out without your consent.
What information is collected if I turn on the “Log Information” setting?
You can turn this setting on to opt in to sending us some information about how you use Cicada. This will help us to further develop Cicada and to refine future communication/AAC systems we will develop. If this setting is turned on, the text of the phrase and the text of the parent category will be collected whenever a phrase is selected.
We will not collect any identifying information, such as the email or user ID associated with the selection. We are currently using this information to help develop collections of pre-built common categories and phrases that people will be able to use to jump start their use of Cicada.
